The Flatfile – temporary collection
Artspace maintains a Flatfile of works on paper by approximately 125 local, regional, and national artists. Works on paper include collages, drawings, prints, photographs, paintings on paper, and small books. Each artist has a portfolio containing up to 10 works no larger than 24x30”.
Art from the Flatfile is regularly drawn upon by curators for inclusion in group and solo exhibitions. The Flatfile is open for viewing during gallery hours by appointment, and Flatfile artworks are available for purchase.
Artists bring new work to their portfolios annually, creating an ever-changing, dynamic group of works on paper. The Flatfile is a resource for collectors, curators, artists, and students.
Collecting art from the Flatfile presents the opportunity to build an affordable collection of unique and invigorating pieces that you will treasure forever.
City-Wide Open Studios
Since 1998, Artspace presents City–Wide Open Studios (CWOS) every year. This fall festival invites hundreds of area artists to open their studios to show their work, share their creative process, and connect with thousands of visitors. Artists can register for the festival online during June, July and August.
Window Space Opportunities
Artspace accepts installation proposals for high visibility window spaces throughout Downtown New Haven on an ongoing basis. Please send up to 10 digital images, artist statement and resume with your proposal, along with any technical requirements.
Portfolio Review
Artspace staff offer portfolio reviews for artists who would like feedback on new bodies of work. The Gallery Director meets with each artist for 30 minutes to discuss the new work, make suggestions for moving forward and recommend opportunities in the New Haven area. Reviews are scheduled by appointment only, please call during office hours to set up an appointment.
Youth Programs and School Opportunities
