Regal plantation-grown mahogany was transformed into a Swiss-designed wine cabinet, then handcrafted by the artist, a very private fine woodcrafter working in his one-man shop in Vermont. On top, four rich mahogany doors open onto four large covered deep shelves, perfect for wine glasses, champagne flutes and tumblers. The cabinet doors contain removable panels upholstered in black ultrasuede. Panels can be changed to suit your taste – kimono fabric, mirrors, stone, contrasting wood, or colored glass are all possibilities. Below the shelves is a hidden pouring shelf or serving area. Set your highly-anticipated wine on the shelf, uncork, and pour away. Under the serving area are four shallow storage drawers, fit for storing coasters, garnish cutting boards, your chic cloth napkins, and corkscrews and bottle openers. Drawers and serving area are fronted by brushed, stainless steel knobs. The Royal Wine Cabinet is finished by a low wine rack that holds 12 bottles with a slim bottom shelf. Feet on the cabinet are wenge, subtle but unforgettable in its richness and potential.
