A graduate of RISD and the Yale School of Art, Melissa Brown has exhibited widely throughout the US.  Her work is characterized by a fantastical, dreamlike quality and strong use of color and detail.  Roberta Smith of the New York Times once wrote, of her work, “stills from Disney cartoons or psychedelic Grant Wood come to mind.”  She is represented by the Bellwether Gallery.  Her work will be appearing in Cabinet Magazine’s forthcoming book of artist designed stamps.
