The New York City-based printmaker and painter Donald Baechler was born in 1956 in Hartford, Connecticut and educated at Maryland Institute College of Art and Cooper Union.  His paintings and prints feature a wide range of subjects are at once innocent and sophisticated.  He is included in major museum collections such as the Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Musuem of American Art, the Stedelijk Musuem, the Centre George Pompidou. He is represented by the Tony Shafrazi Gallery in New York.
