If you cannot attend the auction, you may place an absentee bid (otherwise known as a written bid or a proxy bid). A member of the Artspace staff will bid on your behalf, up to your maximum bid amount. You may, in fact, pay less than your maximum bids if all other bids are lower than your maximum bid. Your bidding proxy will try to secure the piece for you at the lowest price possible.

You may submit your absentee bid through Friday, April 21. You may choose to:
• Fax your form to 203-772-0850.
• Bring your form in person to 50 Orange Street, New Haven, CT.
• Telephone Artspace at 203-772-2709 and request that the staff complete your form over the phone. Please have ready your list of items, your maximum bid amounts, and a credit card number to guarantee your bid. Office hours are Monday-Tuesday, 11am-5pm, and Wednesday-Saturday, 11am-8pm.
Your Absentee Bid Form is a binding agreement between you and Artspace, stating that, upon winning an auction, you will purchase the artwork. Your credit card will be charged the amount of the final hammer price.
Please note that your credit card bill will indicate Creative Arts Workshop, rather than Artspace. CAW is helping with the auction by processing our sales using their credit card merchant account.
We will gladly arrange shipping of your artwork by Federal Express. A shipping and handling charge will be added to your total purchase price.
You may also indicate that you will pick up your purchase at Artspace. Items can be picked up by appointment during gallery hours, for one month following the auction. Artspace reserves the right to return the work to the artist if the buyer has not claimed it by May 31, 2006.
