To bid in person at the April 30 gala, you will need a ticket to the event. You may purchase tickets online or at the door.

Bidding Agreement
To receive your bid paddle, please complete the Bidding Agreement when you arrive at Artspace. This form is a binding agreement between you and Artspace, stating that, upon winning an auction, you will purchase the artwork. A credit card number is required on this form. You may then begin bidding.

Bidding on the Silent Auction
A bid card will be posted below each silent auction item, indicating the starting bid. To bid, simply write your name and the amount you wish to bid. minimum bid increment for silent auction items is $25.

Bidding on the Live Auction
The live auction will take place from 6:30 to 7:15 and will be run by Christie's representative Amy Gold. Christie's procedure for live bidding is as follows:

Raise your paddle when you wish to bid and wait for the auctioneer to acknowledge you. If anyone else wishes to acquire the lot, they will bid against you by the same means. The auctioneer will continue taking ever-increasing bids from each interested party until all but one person drops out. The final bidder is the successful buyer and the auctioneer indicates that the lot is sold by knocking down his gavel on the rostrum and declaring the final hammer price. If bidding fails to reach the reserve (the minimum price the seller is prepared to accept), the item is unsold, and the auctioneer will indicate this by saying 'pass' and moving on to the next lot.

The final bidder is obligated by his Bidding Agreement to purchase the artwork for the final hammer price.

Payment
If you win the auction, you must pay for your purchase that evening. You may pay by check, cash, Mastercard, or Visa. If you need to leave before the end of the evening, we will bill the credit card indicated on your bidding agreement.
